Anyway of making files/folder "public"

If you select a bucket and choose Permissions. Then for "Group: All users" you can specify "Read only", etc.

You probably want to select "Update all" if you want to update existing files, and "Auto apply" so that any new files you update will get these permissions. And then choose Save.

Yeah, its a bit complicated...

What about if I want to create a drop box, where people can send me their files?

I understand (I think) about creating the necessary permissions. But how do they access the bucket? When I try and use the URL associated with the bucket, it comes back as a 403 error.
