When I click "Get Current View" in SketchUp, the image I get is black
and I cannot see the image I captured from Google Earth. I can "Toggle
Terrain", but cannot see the actual image from Google Earth. I have the
most current version of both Google SketchUp and Google Earth, so I am
not sure what the problem is. I followed the directions exactly. I have
access to SketchUp Pro at work, but really want to be able to work on
it at home. Any suggestions??? Thanks!

Sounds like you need to turn the display of textures on:
View>Rendering>Shaded with Textures, or hit the stripey cube icon on
the Display Style Toolbar.

Another possibility is a graphics issue. Check this out: "I'm having
difficulty importing a terrain image successfully from Google Earth for
the PC." at

Roker,

I think you need to have a cool drink, and if you've got a personal
mantra, you might want to intone it a few times.

Please remember that the original problem in this thread reported by
lara81 was not that the GE image was black and white but that it was
black and black. No one ever said the thing was supposed to be in
color. Here is a paragraph from the web page entitled "How do I place a
SketchUp model in Google Earth?"
(http://sketchup.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=36241&topic=8539):

"Note: Although the terrain is in color when you see it in Google
Earth, the image in SketchUp is black and white. This doesn't affect
anything because the image is for positioning purposes only. Once you
place your model in Google Earth, it is displayed on the original color
terrain."
