to Map Your World - 3D Modeling for Google Earth & Maps
Ok so I have created a few models which I feel are very good, however
google doesn't think so and I would like people to give them the once
over and give their honest opion on how to improve them. All models
were submitted and rejected, then I appealed and rejected reasons are
below:

This model was rejected for "unable to verify exisitence of building"
yet I told them it is a British Army Helicopter base, you can even see
the helo landing pads in maps. Also rejected for "no reason given"
what does that mean then?

This model failed because of "incomplete textures and incorrect scale"
I think I have fixed that now can anyone verify this? As shame becasue
it is a really important landmark and holds the worlds longest
recorded echo of 15 seconds!

Finally this model also failed for "incomplete textures" yet I fixed
and re-submitted and I still get the same reply. Please help me out
guys!

First of all - Great models - you should fix them they belong in GE. However, in general the helicopter would probably not be accepted because they don't like to accept non-permanent structures. As far as the other two models, I would select and group the models and then take a bright color like red and paint it. If the model has any untextured sides, It will turn that color and expose the "incomplete texture". Then all you have to do is ungroup and texture those sides and you should solve any problem there. I think that "incorrect scale" usually pops up when a model has doors which are an unusual size. Typically doors are around 7 feet tall. It looks like your door is around 15' tall. This may be correct considering that it is a monument. If it is correct, explain that in your appeal. Hopefully this helps, good luck!

Thank you David this is most helpful information. I think the reviewer
got confused with my model because the white areas look untextured yet
the are in fact white stucco textures. As for the Masoleum yes the
door is very large in fact the real one was made of solid copper and
weighed over a ton that they removed it for causing the building to
sink. So yes it it large and it was taken from the texture photo. I
have appealed will wait with crossed fingers for them both.

Just one other question, will Goolge penalise me if I use any colours
or textures from within sketchup, I take it you have to have your own
custom made colours and textures in order for models to be fully
phototextured and approved?

thanks

Stuart
