Jean, Google has stopped accepting 3d models for Google Earth.
It is very frustrating that this has not been made clearly obvious, and people are still finding websites with instructions to do this, leading to confusion when it doesn’t work. hope you haven’t wasted too much time.

Very simple if you want to see your model on Google Earth on your own computer (will not be published worldwide)
from sketchup - File – Export – 3d model – will make a KMZ file. If you double click the KMZ file, it will open in Google Earth. If you have a problem with this, try right clicking the file and click – open with – google earth.
