When a model is exported from building maker its photo textures are exported with it.

When modifying that same model in SketchUp, the textures are accessed by context clicking 'texture' > 'position'.

The 'texture' appears to be an image that consists usually of multiple images of the building grabbed from different views.

Does anyone know where SketchUp stores that image or how to access the image? I assume it's a .jpg file stored somewhere and would like to be able to modify it in photoshop. Is it possible to do that?

This is pretty easy to do using normal SketchUp tool. I will explain below and in screenshots.

If you want to just export out the building maker texture atlas:
  1. Open the materials browser, click on the home button (to get to the materials "in this model").
  2. Right click on the texture and select "Export Texture image"
If you want to edit the texture atlas in an image editor:
  1. Be sure you have linked a image editor (Window > Preferences > Applications > Default Image Editor). You can set this to Photoshop/Gimp/etc (link to the executable).
  2. Open the materials browser, click on the home button (to get to the materials "in this model").
  3. Right click on the texture and select "Edit Texture image"
  4. It will open in your image editor. Make your edits and save (do not "save as", it must be just a normal save). After saving it will automatically import back into Sketchup.
If you want to edit only a small part of the texture atlas:
  1. Be sure you have linked a image editor (Window > Preferences > Applications > Default Image Editor). You can set this to Photoshop/Gimp/etc.
  2. Right click on a face, and select "Make Unique Texture"
  3. Right click again on the face and select "Texture > Edit Texture Image..."
  4. It will open in your image editor. Make your edits and save (do not "save as", it must be just a normal save) . After saving it will automatically import back into Sketchup.
I hope this helps you!
