Hello.  I know you can wrap a texture around a sphere with Anim8or, but since my computer crashed back in December, I don't have it anymore, and my dad won't let me download anything more onto the computer.  So is there any technique to wrap textures around spheres without additional software or plugins?

Can't you just do it in Sketchup in the first place?

well, when you apply a texture to a sphere (such as a planet map), it kinda appears in tiles.  i want to know if i can actually wrap it around the sphere to look like a planet.

That I know of, Sketchup wont do that automatically (I could be wrong, though!). I know you can always adjust each "tile" manually, but that's a lot of work.

This can be done.

You need a plugin called 'UV Tools' - http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=10404

There's also a updated version that will do more than you need -

Best of luck :)
