Is it Just Me ? Or did the Compression just get worse ?

Since updating to the latest version of GE, it appears the rate of
file compression is worse. Image Textures that were very clean, crisp
and clear (even when previously compressed) are far more blurry now
than before.

I know that changes have been made to permit more models in GE and to
help speed things up, but I hope it hasn't been at the cost of making
models look worse than before.

I also just tried uploading a revised model only to have either the
Warehouse and/or SketchUp crash half way through the upload (never had
this problem before).
I went to delete the 2 attempts which showed in the History List ..
only to learn that I first deleted the Original Model.

What is going on ?

Hi SnowTiger,

You're saying that you see a texture degradation connected to a GE
version upgrade? This is extraordinarily surprising; the texture
compression and 3D buildings release cycle are completely unconnected
to the GE version release cycle. If something's happened to the
textures, you've hit a bug in the release.

1) Which version (platform and release number) of GE are you using
now?
2) Would it be possible for you to send us a before and after
screenshot?
3) What graphics card are you using?
4) Do you have a second computer running different hardware that you
can check it on?

For the model you're having problems editing, what's the warehouse
model ID and what crash report did it produce?

Hi Allison

Before I bother anyone (and/or you) with this topic and further, I
will take a closer look at everything.
I haven't changed any of my settings but have been having some other
difficulties too.

For example, every time I go to upload a new or revised model, I keep
getting and Upload Error .. something about the Server Timing Out.
I will copy the Error Message next time I try it.

In the meantime I will try to find previous screenshot images that
might illustrate how/where I believe the image clarity has degraded.
