At times I am able to connect just fine.. and MOST of the time I get the subject line error message...

I've checked my internet settings.. Am allowing sketchup.google.com and www.google.com, cookies enabled, cache enabled etc etc
Cleared all cookies and cache and restarted my mac...

I have tried it from multiple ISP's whom all have different ip paths to Sketchup.google.com (I'm a network engineer).

I have tried it from other machines... still the same...

No firewalls in the way, no NAT in the way, firewalls in the way, NAT in the way.. nothing

This is very frustrating error message.. the help drill down menu's are of no help...

So hopefully *somebody* knows how to fix it...

Was considering laying out 95 bucks for pro but if I can't publish the work... I'll look for another 3d modeling package

to Map Your World - 3D Modeling for Google Earth & Maps
Hi Daniel,

I don't experience any problems like this (on WinXP), so the problem
is likely on your side.
If you say, you have tried different machines, how "different" were
they, in terms of OS, IE settings, firewall etc?
Were they all inside the same business?

One thing that comes into my mind is that the SketchUp application
uses the OS-supplied browser on ever OS to display the web pages for
uploading models, and this is not Firefox. (Safari on a Mac?)
So if you can access the 3D warehouse (using Firefox) and at the same
time SketchUp cannot access it, it may be the browser used that causes
the problems. Maybe update to a new version? I'm just guessing.

Second thing is: Which version of SU are you using?

Matthias,

Well.. I'm on a MAC though I run Parrallels so I can use MickeySoft
Visio....

So with WinXP I'm not sure as all three of my boxes are Mac OS 10.5.8
(all patches applied meaning current).

I have been using my primary machine (MacBook Pro 15) to do SU work
and I move from one ISP uplink to another quite often in my work
(Rarely Paid Consultant)...

For some vague reason I think this is related to which DNS server in
my Mac's network settings is used.. which knowing Google uses lots of
cache servers might be the root cause of my problem.

In two of the three ISP's sketchup.google.com resolves to
64.233.189.100. However in the last case it resolves to 64.233.189.101.

These cache servers generally are hooked up via geo dns databases and
direct you to the *closest cache*.. since sketchup.google.com uses
"cookies" the information contained in the "cookie" might not match..
and the error message is a run home to momma "check your internet
settings"...

Note below that in each case as my machine gets its DNS server from a
different provider the IP address of sketchup.google.com changes.. and
the route to that *virtual* device (being sketchup.google.com seems to
have multiple IP addresses (probably an F5 Load balancer involved here
as well)..

*sigh*

So.. from home using PLDT AS9299 my route to sketchup.google.com is:

The only time I have ever experienced difficulties connecting to the Warehouse (or anywhere else) where I was receiving messages indicating I have No Internet Connection when I clearly did ... was recently .. due to a Trojan that seemed to affect Firefox moreso than IE ... which is really unusual.
This took place just last week, 20 minutes after my AVG Pro License expired !!!!
My license renewal and 4 hours of tech support finally resolved my issue.

PS> I am using a real computer ... not a Mac  (snicker !!).  sry.. i realize that is a bad joke.

For the heck of it, it might be worth taking a look at this possibility. This very new Trojan is quite sneaky and very difficult to find and treat. In fact, only the very latest virus definitions were able to recognize this very new Trojan.
Hopefully, your issues are the result of something else.
