NOVEMBER NEWSLETTER

As we approach the season of gratitude, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported The Knowledge House this year. With over 500 students trained across our Innovation Fellowship, KKCF Coding Fellowship, Technology Fellowship in Stamford, and Digital Literacy programs, none of this would be possible without the commitment of our 203+ active volunteers, generous funders, and community partners.

From launching new workshops to equipping future digital leaders with in-demand skills, your support continues to power our mission.

Earlier this month, we closed out our Tech Empowerment Day series with a meaningful event at Bronx Community College (BCC). In partnership with AT&T, the Bronx Borough President’s Office, and the Bronx Economic Development Corporation, we were able to distribute 100 laptops, supporting TKH fellows, alumni, potential applicants, and BCC students.

We also hosted our Empanadas & Energy, a first-of-its-kind event with the New York Power Authority, showcasing career pathways in the energy sector. And lastly, at our Corporate Reception, we celebrated TKH’s 11th anniversary alongside alumni, fellows, volunteers, and partners. It was a powerful reminder that our community is full of brilliance, resilience, and drive.

As I reflect on this season, I’m especially grateful for the community we’ve built—from fellows who trust us with their education and career goals, to supporters and partners who invest in our mission and alumni, to the volunteers and staff who power this work every day. As AI continues to reshape the job market, TKH remains committed to ensuring our learners aren’t just prepared but positioned to lead. If you’re inspired by what we’re building, we invite you to help us expand access to high-quality tech education and workforce development for even more learners in the year ahead.

With gratitude,

Anna Verdiyan, Chief Growth & Strategy Officer

COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT

NYC Tech Empowerment Day: 100 Futures Unlocked

Our final Tech Empowerment Day of 2025 at Bronx Community College was a huge success! We exceeded our NYC participation goal by nearly 30%, engaging 60+ students over two days. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with a 75% Net Promoter Score and 100% of attendees saying they plan to bring tech into their lives - from self-study to future training.

Together with our partners, AT&T, the Bronx Borough President’s Office, Bronx Community College, and the Bronx Economic Development Corporation, we distributed 100 laptops to Bronx students, job seekers, and community members, taking a meaningful step toward digital equity and closing the tech divide.

From tools to training, this event showcased the power of community collaboration. Huge thanks to the volunteers, alumni, speakers, and instructors who made it all possible.

PARTNERSHIP SPOTLIGHT

🥂 Celebrating 11 Years at Our Corporate Reception

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our 11th Anniversary Corporate Reception at CLA! We’re especially grateful to CLA for hosting us, and to all the volunteers and lead partners who made the evening possible.

Guests heard inspiring stories from alumni and fellows, including Jianhang Xiao (now a data manager in healthcare), Julissa Morales (a current fellow pivoting from biomedical engineering to data science), and George Calderon (a web development fellow blending tech with music).

“Even with a college degree, I didn’t have the industry-ready skills like Python and SQL. The Knowledge House gave me those tools—and the confidence to speak up, take on new challenges, and work towards something I never thought possible.”
— Julissa Morales, Data Science Fellow

💛 Fuel Futures with Opportunity

At The Knowledge House, we equip learners with in-demand tech skills, durable professional competencies, and access to industry networks that open doors.

From day one to graduation and beyond, our Fellows gain the tools and confidence needed to thrive in today’s rapidly evolving workforce - whether they’re learning Python, collaborating on real-world projects, or preparing for job interviews.

This December, our Innovation Fellows are preparing to graduate. And with more than 500 applications already submitted for our next class starting in January, the momentum and need has never been greater.

Your support helps us meet this demand. Together, we can expand access to high-quality, community-rooted tech training - so that no one gets left behind in the AI-driven economy.
