APRIL NEWSLETTER
Dear Friends,
April is National Volunteer Month, and at The Knowledge House, it’s a moment to recognize the people who make our work possible.
For many of our fellows, advancing in today’s workforce isn’t just about learning new skills; it’s about gaining access to the networks, guidance, and real-world insight that open doors.
|
|
As one fellow shared:
“My mock interview was an incredibly productive conversation... She provided valuable advice on re-entering the workforce and has kindly offered to review my resume. Overall, it was a very positive and helpful experience.”
Volunteers play a critical role in making those moments possible.

As one of our volunteers shared:
“I think it's essential to uplift communities that have been underrepresented and underestimated to succeed… It’s where the magical moments of revelation and growth can really blossom.”
In 2025, 285 volunteers supported our fellows and alumni, contributing more than 1,050 hours across mentorship, mock interviews, and workshops, with a 90% volunteer satisfaction rate.
By sharing their networks and experiences, volunteers help fellows build the connections and confidence needed to move forward.
As TKH continues to grow across New York City, Newark, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and Connecticut, our volunteer network grows with us.
Join us as a volunteer and help shape what comes next. And if you’re not able to volunteer, your donation helps us expand access to the networks and resources that change trajectories.
At TKH, we know it takes a community to close that gap.
With gratitude,

Jerelyn Rodriguez Williams
CEO & Co-Founder
