OCTOBER NEWSLETTER
As we close out October, The Knowledge House is celebrating 11 years of closing the digital divide.
What began in the South Bronx as a small community of technologists has grown into a national movement preparing thousands of underestimated individuals for tech careers.
As we celebrate this growth and over a decade of impact, we also took time this month to honor our roots and community through Cybersecurity Awareness Month and Hispanic Heritage Month—highlighting voices like TKH IT apprentice Shafee and sharing practical tech tips from our talented community members.
After a decade of serving our neighborhoods, we’ve seen firsthand how access and literacy shape opportunity. That experience drove our national expansion four years ago — and inspired Tech Empowerment Days (TED). This October, we brought TED to Newark and Los Angeles, offering hands-on workshops, alumni panels, and, thanks to our LA partner Delete the Divide, free laptops. These events are helping us close critical digital literacy gaps, so every aspiring technologist, regardless of their zip code, can thrive.
We are excited to announce that we redesigned our flagship Innovation Fellowship to strongly align with current workforce trends and industry demands. The new 6-month program model focuses on AI Business Solutions, Data Analytics, and Cybersecurity, while embedding AI literacy, durable skills, and business fluency across all tracks. This approach empowers Fellows with the technical and professional skills needed to thrive in today’s evolving job market. Learn more here.
Now in our 11th year, The Knowledge House is more committed than ever to creating pathways into tech for overlooked talent. Each year, nearly 1 in 3 of our Fellows rely on us for access to laptops or reliable internet — a reminder that the tech gap still persists. We’re excited to announce that applications are officially open for our newly redesigned Innovation Fellowship — a 6-month, intensive job training program preparing students for high-demand careers in technology.
This year, we’ve realigned our curriculum to reflect market trends and fellow goals, offering new and updated tracks in:
- 📊 Data Analytics — New York (Hybrid) & Newark (in-person)
- 🛡 Cybersecurity — New York (iHybrid) & Washington D.C. (virtual only)
- 🤖 AI Business Solutions Engineer — Atlanta (Hybrid) & Los Angeles (virtual only)
Fellows begin with a 5-week Foundations course, where we assess digital literacy and career alignment to ensure the right track fit.

This October, we brought Tech Empowerment Days to Los Angeles and Newark, connecting attendees with hands-on learning, TKH alumni stories, and free laptops — thanks to partners like the LA Public Library, Delete the Divide, and EqualSpace.
