I have 4 3d printer at my house and my family doesn't give a .....
Wife is complaining about electricity consumption ... I tell her that i pay the bills :)

I think the best way to convince them to get a 3d printer would be to brain wash them with cool youtube videos of 3d printing

I disagree! Too Time consuming and Too much effort on their part to be convinced!

Answer - U go on Thingiverse & find cool stuff & print for them. Even go simple - like Joe Larson Gator Potatoe Chip Bag Clip - have Ur family use it - they get excited - THEN Tell them to check out Thingiverse - and that you will print stuff - and its a Done deal. Specially - get something on Thingiverse- that Ur wife might find useful - give it to her - make her happy - NO More Bitching about Electrical Usage!

Am doing similar w/my Buddy's wife - and she can be a bit of "Hell on Wheels" - and Bitch about Elec. usage of my Hot Tub - until now she finally got Into the Tub - and found out JUST How Amazing it is in there!!! My Buddy got his Whole Family in there a week or so ago - when I wasn't home (as I am the new Downstairs Appt. Tenant) - and they really liked it!

WHO hasn't bought a printer yet??? U mean Andrew - who started thread?

If so - hate to say - your sadly mistaken - as he is Heavily Entrenched in the 3D Printer community - runs the 3D Hacker website for 3D Printer stuff - owns multiple printers - and has ALSO produced YouTube videos re:3D Printing!

:-)

Just sayin'...

Understood & quite true. Yes - its really more directed at people who Don't have a printer - and want one - although posted by a guy who has one.  And - that guy - Andrew of 3D Hacker - is actually working with me now on my next new 3D Printer venture. Once we get some serious traction on that venture - I will post the news here in this Forum!
