First LAUSD request:  create models which show the volume of solids like cones, cylinders and so on. Models should be open on one side so students can feel inside but should somehow close up so students can also feel the entire object. Ideally students should be able to pour water from one to another to show equal volume.

Request filled by Whosawhatsis. His models are  at https://www.youmagine.com/designs/fixed-volume-objects  and lots of discussion of the development at

Whosawhatsis has updated the two conical models with lids to make them both a little easier to print and less pointy. Same link!

And now he has posted a second update - adding a version with a little ball on top of the two pointy shapes so that the volume is not distorted, but the models should be more comfortable for a VI student to handle.

I don't know exactly what you are looking for, but I have about 40 3d printing project for kids and some of them might be of use to you.  I'd be happy to help out or get you more information on any of these projects:

Hi Mike-
We already fulfilled this one (the links are on replies above) but maybe you could post links to a few that you particularly like in the "models no one has asked for but people might want" thread above...or maybe just start a new thread because there's a lot of stuff here. Thanks for chiming in!
