Welcome to the 3DN Techblog working group! Please introduce yourself
here after you've joined the group so we know more about each other
and can network through various social networks. Here are some
questions you can answer:
What's your name?
What do you do?
Which city are you based now?
Do you write your own blog or maintain a website? Please share the
URL.
Would you like us to "friend" you on LinkedIn, Facebook, or follow on
Twitter? Leave your URLs!

We all look forward to collaborating with you!

Wow, leave it up to Yu to take action instantly :) I guess every group
needs it's own whirlwind of activity and for me it's only an acquired
skill and doesn't come natural, so, very happy to have you on board
Yu!

So here's my own introduction, even though I know some on this list
personally already:

I'm Fred Leeflang, I founded the 3DN Techblog. My motivation starting
this blog was, and still is, to try and do some branding for my own
company 3DN, hence the name of the blog. This doesn't mean I will
constantly be pushing my own brand, it simply means that I like my
company to become known as a company that collaborates with other
companies and individuals to talk about technology in general in an
effort to make technology even more accessible.

The name of the company is pronounced in Dutch as driedeeen, or when
rambled quickly enough 'drie ideeen' (three ideas). This represents
the three activities required for a closed loop; Designing,
Implementing and Maintaining. Just so y'all know :)

I'm originally from the Netherlands as the above implies and live in
one of the most modern cities in the Netherlands called Almere. I've
lived in the USA for nearly 7 years and I'm a technology entrepeneur
with many different interests. My website... they are legion. http://3dn.nl
is conceivably the least well maintained of them all :) I can be found
easily on many social networks like Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter etc.
because I use my own name pretty much everywhere.

Using my own name on most of these social media has something to do
with a project I'm currently involved in which is a global identity
management system. I've been writing many articles on the subject;
anybody interested in why this results in my using my own name
everywhere should really read http://wordpress.3dn.nl/category/identity-management,
enjoy :)

I think we should really set up a nice bio page on the site for all
the authors.
Who doesn't agree?

I agree, but only if I can think of something to say.

There's already a function for it, I think you need to make it public. Or add another plugin that'll go directly to the author page along with their posts.

Yu, I checked into this; I needed to install a wordpress plugin, it now shows a list of authors in the right panel. I also had to create an author.php template for the theme to override the default behavior. I've used a basic template for the author.php right now, it should be relatively simple to change.
