I'm using my Voodoo3-3000 with Half Life. In the OpenGL mode, (which
has better graphics IMO) the save and restore seem to work in "Slow
Motion". Sometimes, I get kicked back to the Windows desktop in
640X480 and the game is running (but not responding) in the
background.

I tried the latest released drivers and even the latest beta drivers
w/o success. The game runs fine in Direct 3D, but I prefer to use Open
GL.

Any fixes for this?

Dunno any fix, but HL does the same to me, w/ Voodoo3 2000.
The game and drivers are the latest version.

I'm not sure what you mean by "slow motion". There is a problem that
sometimes happens where the menus are sort of slow responding. There's
a fix for that (involving changing the registry). I can give you the
details if that sounds like the problem you're having.

As for trying to go from the game to the menus and ending up back at
the desktop, the latest Wicked3D drivers seem to have fixed this. You
might give them a try. You can find them at www.wicked3d.com . To get
the drivers you have to fill out a registration form that includes your
email address, but I've never gotten any spam or anything like that
after first registering with them a few months ago. They'll send you an
email with a registration key to use when installing the drivers. The
funny thing is, you don't actually need that key any more. They've
changed the installation procedure. But I think you still have to go
through the form to get to the drivers.

Yes, the problem is with the menus. I read a message about the "fix"
which involves changing a registry value from "0" to "1" (cpumhz). I
did that, and all seems fine now.

Call me KOOKIE, but why don't you have your desktop at 800X600 or higher?
You should at least have it at at least 16-bit color too, ESPECIALLY with
the power of a V3.

My Windows desktop is set to 800x600 and 32 bit true color. But the V3
uses a maximum of 16 bit color in 3d mode. I'm playing Half Life in
640x480 mode because it is recommended by Sierra.

Since the slow motion is now gone then why not try that 1024x768 on for
size?
