How do you set Hexen 2 to 800x600 resolution? The manual says edit the
command line, but I'm clueless. Could someone please give a rookie a
quick and simple walkthrough?

Thanks,

Michael

I created a shortcut to the program on my desktop (dragging the
executable file from the Hexen2 folder to the desktop).

Then right click on that shortcut, go to properties, and on the target
line add:
-width 800 -bbp 16

Then when you double click on this shortcut, you will be playing H2 at
800x600.

Enjoy! :-)

Place a shorcut to GLH2.exe on your desktop. Then right click on it and choose properties. Add "-height 600 -width 800 -bpp 16" to the command line (without
the ")  It should look like this:

C\HEXEN2\GLH2.EXE -height 600 -width 800 -bpp 16

Your path maybe be different so just add the commands to whatever it may be.

Hope it helps  :-)

All righty then :

Open your hexen II folder, right click anywhere in that window (except
on an icon) and choose new -> test document. Rename this to 800.bat (or
something). Next, right click on your new batch file and choose edit. This
will open notepad. Copy and paste the following lines into notepad :

SET SSTV2_FASTMEM=1
SET SSTV2_FASTPCIRD=1
SET FX_GLIDE_NO_SPLASH=1
glh2.exe -width 800 -height 600 -bpp 16

The important one is the last one, the glh2.exe line. If you're not sure
about the other lines, don't use 'em (it won't matter).
Run your new batch file and presto...Hexen 2 in glorious 800x600.

Right, now off to get a second v2 for crispy-mongous 1024x768 (yeah, I
wish).

If you have any trouble gimme an email.

I did not try it myself, but i guess it is like glquake.
So try typing "hexenii -width 800 -heigth 600 -bpp 16"

Make the executable as follows:
"E:\Hexen II\glh2.exe" -width800 -height 600 -bpp16

Works great with my CLV2/12Meg. Beautiful 3D graphics, very fast and
fluid game play.

It might be your resolution/colour setting for your display properties.
Make sure you've got 16 bit colour set. I had the same problem trying to
set "-bpp 24" until I noticed that my screen resolution was 16 bit colour
not 24 bit colour.

i tried the batch file one...it worked perfect! thanks for all who helped!
my problem was i was using the parentheses ( ) after the word
width....instead of -width 800

thanks again!
