is this just a joke?
/dev/3dfx is installed and exist.
But test3Dfx still says: unable to find V3/Banshee Board.

Ok, this is my first post in this group, but if you wanna automatically
load the 3dfx module try to put this in your /etc/conf.modules:
alias char-major-107 3dfx
It works for me.

You will also have to create the device file itself... depending on the
distribution you are using it won't be created on install.
Take a look at `mknod'. Make a character special file with a major mode
of 107 and a minor mode of 0. The file should be called /dev/3dfx.

No, this is not a dumb question, it's one of a set of common sources for trouble
;-) !
"chmod 666 /dev/3dfx" does the job, btw !

The whole thing is a joke, I did everything you all said, and it still doesn't find
my Voodoo3 3000 board. BTW,
my Glide_V3.2.60-8 doesn't make /usr/local/glide/lib or anything, just bin/ with
test3Dfx, what seems to be the problem?
