He wasn't lying. The only problem is that you have to have a fully compliant
OpenGL driver to do the software rendering for you. Depending on your hardware
(Video Card) your results will vary from about 8 spf to maybe (if you're lucky)
about 10-12fps.
I would definately recommend picking up a 3d accelerator card. A Monster 3D
can be had for around $150, and by now, maybe less. Or you can check into a
Canopus 3d, it has more texture memory. My Monster 3d can turn out 30+fps in
Q1, and about 27 in Q2. And it doesn't bog down too much in deathmatches/ctf
games when a lot of objects are flying around.
