Is there some command in GL quakeworld to lighten up the dark areas of the
maps?? I have set my Voodoo2 gamma as high as it will go..

I know Q2 has that command to lighten up only the really dark areas of the maps,
does GL QW have a similar command??

(GL Polyblend I think it is in Q2??)

Thanks,

UM, I just have to ask...
Did you turn the brightness and contrast on your monitor AND adjust Quake's
gamma before you adjusted the card's gamma?

If YES:
I can't help...

If NO:
1. Reset the gamma in Quake and on the card back to the default setting.
2. Turn up the brightness and contrast on your monitor.
3. If #2 isn't any better, then turn up Quake's gamma.
4. If #3 isn't any better, then change the card's gamma settings.

The Quake command you are thinking about is:
r_fullbright 1

I believe that either in the VIDEO or OPTIONS menu, on the title screen,
there is a bar in which you can increase and decrease the gamma - but I
could be wrong.

Give it a try and find out!

Depends on the card you got. Most cards have a control panel, usually
under display in the control panel, to change the gamma. Others you have
to put in a command line. Look for the card you got and check the website
for more info.

I had same problem. Gamma won't work. In a batch file I have that runs my
GLQuake I have the following line:

SET SSTV2_GAMMA=2.0

This brought the brightness back up. I think 2.5 is the brightest you can
get it. Good luck.
