Well, guess that rules out the slow CPU theory :)
When (and if) I ever get it working on mine (I'm still hacking away at
it...) I'll let ya know how my sound goes...I got an AWE64 (no gold...just
regular tin or whatever it is)

Ross ...I saw the same thing. Rebooted to pure DOS, ran the
game once from there, whereupon it began (and completed) the
texture rebuilding thing. Game was beautiful! Now I can fire it
up from a Windows95 Shortcut and it works great!

Try re-installing your sound card drivers.. For me, DirectX5 messed
mine up. Went to the webpage, got new ones.. Problem solved.
Not sure it your case is Dx5 related, but try it anyway.
