i get this message

Snapshotting a view that has not been rendered results in an empty snapshot. Ensure your view has been rendered at least once before snapshotting or snapshot after screen updates.

and then the app crashes.

It's simple.

UIPickerview has changed in several respects that affect AR. Landscape is no longer allowed.

The solution is: abandon picker and use the AVFoundation.

Sure - Josh and I were discussing the merits of open sourcing 3DAR. Any thoughts?

I personally think it's the most usable location-based AR api available for iOS. It would be a shame for it not to maintained somehow.
