Intro

Hi,

my name is Johannes Behr and talked to Remi yesterday at the Web3D
conference in Paris and he introduced me to this project.

I'm head of the VCST group at Fraunhofer IGD, Germany
(www.igd.fraunhofer.de/vcst), Web3D and W3C member, and heavily
involved in the development process of OpenSG (www.opensg.org),
InstantReality (www.instantreality.org) and X3DOM (www.x3dom.org)

I'm also one of the initial member of the new W3C "declarative 3D"
community group.

We used REST (and other related Web-technolgy like SOAP) as API for
our VR/AR Framework and I really love the idea of a common interface
for 3D data.

Welcome Johannes,

It's good news that the W3C has interest in "declarative 3D". I think it reinforces why COLLADA, a declarative 3D language, has become popular in the Web environment.

Very well. We just released version 1.2 and all the results will feed
the new W3C group.
