...and a possible Thing-of-the-Week! But, hold tight - not quite there yet...
So - Phase 1 - Prepping a model and testing out printing, before making an actual pumpkin face. Yes - I kinda cheated - as I grabbed a model off of Thingiverse. But, the end game is to eventually post my Version(s) to Thingiverse, as a Re-Make, and give credit back to the original creator. That is - after I can properly log back into my TV account (which I can't do right now).
Anyway, I tweaked the model to be able to print Hollow - Mainly to print FAST - and minimize plastic required for the print job. Also, although I hate to use supports - I did print this 1st version with supports. Will admit - upon trying to slice it - Elegoo slicer complained it could not print due to thin walls. So, I simply doubled the size of it on the build plate - and I WAS able to then finally print it.
The completed print:
Then, after supports removal - and just lightly setting the top on:
Yeah - this version has problems - it's so thin - the top falls into the pumpkin. But - no worries - that will be rectified in the next phase.
Of course, this posting would NOT be complete if I didn't take the part into the bathroom, shut off the lights - and take a pic. I obviously need a MUCH Better camera to take a good pic in the dark...
Will also follow-up in a moment with the STL file!
