Since today's podcast highlights it, here's my experience so far. I got the machine Sunday and it's been running near non-stop printing holiday stuff (attached photos of a grinch hand decoration and multicolor ornament - all ABS)
1 - printing ABS on this machine is an absolute dream. I've attached photos of a Grinch hand wall hanger, printed in Polymaker ABS on the engineering plate. I printed all parts separately (non-AMS version), multi up filling the build plate. The hands took about 14 hours with a .6 nozzle, (.4 would have been over 20) came out fantastic. Supports snapped right off (unfortunately I didn't have any ABS support material). ZERO smell and my VOC meter didn't budge the entire time. Leaving the prints inside for about 5 minutes after print so the chamber can filter, and even opening the door the smell was about gone. Bambu has done a fantastic job with the chamber filtration on these. Some of the parts I've printed look damn near injection molded.
You guys were right when you said if you print a lot of ABS you should probably get the H2 machines. Or other materials, short of something like PEEK of course.
2 - I'm finding big time savings (for my usage case) with the Vortek/AMS combination in the front end. I have 3 AMS units - 1 AMSHT (single slot) and 2 full sized AMS units. The convenience of simply selecting a nozzle size and hitting print is a boon.
3 - The engineering plate is sublime. I hate textured PEI, the engineering plate has just a slight texture (like fine emory cloth). ABS sticks to it like glue (I use a little Dimafix liquid)
I also have the cutter head, which is going to replace a Silhouette Cameo. Already, Bambu's software is far more intuitive. Almost makes me wish I'd have sprung for the laser unit.
Build quality seems more like something that should cost $15K. Seriously, these H2 units are solid.
A few things annoy me, like the safety key in the rear - either put it on top or sell us the remote key separate from the laser. A stop button that only works with the laser - I see a future firmware update making it a sleep button like they did on the X1.
