I'm not really into artistic uses of 3D printing, but I did find this interesting:

There's a link to an app that runs in your browser to apply the "zenithal shading effect" to your 3D models.

It won't be long until someone releases a tool to achieve that deep-shading effect that Andy has been working on with the roots pot model.

Exciting 3D printing times.

A very interesting thing to try… I’ll be playing with it. Note at the end of the article they provide the same tip we talked about for controlling a surface colors’ reach deeper into the print. In other words how to keep it from going all the way into the print and wasting time and filament.

In regard to your comment below - which I highlighted in Blue - is that Right???

I did check out the webpage article - but, I ended up skimming thru it. Although it was interesting, it wasn't something I was really looking to try out. On the other hand - if there's a Hint to help Stop that One problem - then I MUST Look Deeper at that one part of the article.

This being said, and yeah - you mentioned this in your Podcast - that making things multi-color, there is an Inherent problem. I have this kind of Toy rocket design I created years ago (originally in I believe it was 2015). And, over the years I have printed many different versions of it (even attempted a MASSIVE version - to be like 600mm tall - on an Essentium HSE - Sadly that print failed). It was originally designed to be printed completely Hollow - so, like 2 shells and Zero Infill - cause it was designed to follow DFAM rules. Then, whilst at Essentium - and they had a X1C - I printed it hollow in 1 color. But, the next version - I attempted to print multi-color, and I had painted on the colors - and that's when I found that even though I TRIED to print it hollow - it was drawing the colors all the way into the Center - and thus was going to do a Print fail - if If printed hollow. So - I didn't Not print it hollow.

Well, recently - whilst printing one of the mini-dragons on the SnapMaker U1 - I had some kind of a print fail (I don't remember the circumstances - it was Several weeks ago) - and it stopped printing 1/2 way up the head. The upside - it Shows Exactly what Andy spoke about in the podcast - painted colors - they do this Inward affect - which can be Clearly seen in this pic:

I honestly think the piece looks pretty cool - am kinda Happy it failed - as it's trully a Perfect example of the coloring issue!!!
