Hi Guys,
Not said hello for a short while. Work mental, extended heat here in UK been a slog (perhaps not by US standards, but we’re not well equipped for it here) - haven’t had the 3 print motivation.

Wanted to give something a go on the Snapmaker U1 last night. A simple push fit part with a modest overhang. Got a spool of cheap PTEG on the machine and tough it give it a go as a support.

The problem the print goes from 30 mins to 1hr 10mins. Wasn’t obvious to me at first why - with the tool changer and all. But had a think about it and perhaps time taken to adjust bed or nozzle settings? Although thats not obviously the case with a tool changer that can maintain respective nozzles at temp.

Any tips trick. Sure i can wait the extra 30 mins. But you know when you’re not feeling it, any barrier (no matter how small), becomes a mountain!

You’re likely using the PETG as support. Which means every single layer there is a tool swap.

Use it as support interface only, and use the PLA as the support structure.  That way you only have one (or two) swap at the interface layer.

Make sure interface spacing is zero, etc.
