Interesting... I played Cello in elementary school.
hmmm....
That was printed using the Forte3D machine. What would you guess the actual cost was to print that Cello with that carbon fiber material? I also note that the only part we can see in the pic shows a flat face rather than the iconic arched top of a stringed instrument.
FYI, you can buy a brand new wooden Cello on Amazon for $139.99... Chances are a hand made wooden Cello that sells for the cost of this 3D Printed Cello is probably a really good Cello!
I'll use this for the news segment! Thanks!

It’s not all 3d printed.  They price a comparable  one at $5000.

90% of everything is hype though skilled labor has become very expensive, people what to be able to eat these days.

A cello is so large that shipping it from overseas would  be expensive.   No word on how much the fillament costs.   Also the problem of these piling up in the trash I mean a wood one breaks down easer than carbon fiber

I understand that fiberglass boat hulls will be with us till the end of time

“The cello’s top and back are made from flat, concave carbon-fiber panels. Its ribs and neck are produced through 3D printing. Meanwhile, traditional parts such as the sound post, fingerboard, and bridge preserve tonal authenticity. “

Ironically - my son was playing Cello in Middle and early High school. Then dropped the Cello and wanted to play keyboard & my Ex paid for a piano teacher for lessons. She also paid for a woman to coach him on Cello. At one point - when the woman was there - and she was quite old at the time (maybe like 60-70) - and I asked her about he background and asked if she would play a little (cause - sadly - my son sounded kinda Bad) - and WOW - she played just a little and was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!

So - there is on one and only Cello reminiscence story...
