OMG Andy - you had me laughing SO Hard as you were talking about me in the Podcast. Because of you - I may now be MORE Famous? Although - most folks would consider me more on the Infamous type scale!

 

Either way - thanks SO MUCH for the Homage - as it was SUPER Fun to listen to!

 

And, the place where I am staying at in SD right now with a buddy of mine - they have 2 printers. One is his - the other is his son's printer (Both are Creality units). And, I got the son to listen to yoru podcast yesterday - as I told him about the Homage to me that you did. He ALSO liked the podcast - and you may NOW have Garnered a NEW Listener!!!

 

And - yeah - I DO Try to Spread the Gospel of 3D Printing Today!

So - I wanted ta chat about this - since Andy did bring this up in another Thread recently - which was obviously a pre-cursor to it being discussed in the podcast.

As I previously mentioned -  I did indeed coerce someone else to start listening to the podcast - with the Hook that Andy was talking about me. Then, that evening I was talking to him about it (he's like 22) - and also talking to his Dad about it. Specifically we were discussing the VOC's issue. This is because he has a printer (a Creality unit) - and his dad also has a printer, another Creality unit. Both printers are in the garage - which is the proper place for them - as was discussed in the podcast. 

However, here's the issue. The dad - he has his spot in the garage where he is smoking his Cannabis. And, so, I brought this up to them both - that this may be a concern. And, to answer a question most of you might ask - yeah, they are printing Mostly just PLA. But, as we know from the VOC's research - even PLA - the particles are as bad as burning bacon. Of course, breathing in a lot of pot smoke - that is ALSO NOT good for the lungs either! 

So - question is - if the dad is already smoking MaryJane in the Garage - does it really matter if the printers are on and printing PLA parts??

I’m not sure what the pot smoke issue is… but I don’t think it matters all that much with PLA. ABS or Nylon is a different matter.

My question - in regards to the pot - is, if the person is already smoking in a ton of pot into their lungs - it almost makes the breathing in of PLA particles to be Irrelevant!

However, that's just my opinion - and I was looking to see what others thought about it.

Hey there folks!

Anyway - bringing up an old thread - since I came across something rather interesting!

I got in touch with a co. this weekend, although sadly - the job they had posted on their website (for which I was a NEARLY Perfect Fit!) - turns out they already hired for the position and FAILED to remove the job posting from their website. And, deal is - a prior Essentium person works for them right now. 

So - what I found to be interesting - was in regard to the segment on Ep # 507 titled - "End of service notice from SSYS".

When the person replied back to me this morning - this was the Signature of their email:

I found it Quite Interesting - although NOT surprised that a co. would jump on the bandwagon in regard to a Discontinuation of a machine. Yeah, the StrataSys machines are Quite Solid suckers - so - maybe they CAN Indeed keep on rockin' for another 5 years!
