I meant to post this a little over a week ago - when I had finished the project - but I was just jumping to other projects and failed to post. So, here I am now....
FYI - although the STL files are NOT attached - I will hopefully follow-up tonight and do so.
The 1st pic - I already posted it in the forum recently - and this was that pic:
This is the Trap Door for the Poop Chute. The door has a frame around it - and it's designed such that the door snaps into place within the frame. AT the top edge of the door/flap is a "living hinge" design. The door is printed in TPU - specifically because
of the hinge - but, also to make the locking of it shut - easy to implement! Will also note - Infill is Large - and I am printing thin walls - so that there is a bit of a squish/compression ability around that circular hole. And, there are 2 of those holes.
It will shortly be apparent as to why...
The finish print of the poop chute door flap:
The main Framework around the door is Printed in PCTG - and it has the holes to connect it to the back of the printer. This is the chute door assembled with the frame:
Of course, the door needs a Handle. Will admit - it's rather Big - but, it works. The smaller parts goes on other side of the flap - to lock the handle onto the trap door:
The unit full assembled together with the handle - and propped up with black piece simply for a Photo Op:
Finally - unit installed on the back of the printer:
