There's a recent YouTube video from JanTec Engineering about testing adhesion between different filament types (e.g. PLA-PETG, ABS-TPU, etc).
There were two interesting bits in particular, the first was a summary table of the adhesion tests (4:41 into video):
There's been much discussion on the podcast about PLA-PETG printing and that's borne out by these tests.
The other interesting comment was the idea of using a single layer of PLA (8:51 into video) on the build plate and then printing ABS on top of it for the rest of the print as a way to help ABS printing issues and avoiding warping. He pointed out that you may
be able to get by with a lower temperature on the print bed than ABS usually requires (60° instead of 110°).
