Hi,

Does any one have an opinion on whether the e3d revo and its clones will address potential heat creep issues that can come when printing filaments that require higher temps.

Thx

It's hard to say. There aren't many of these in the wild. I'm a beta tester for the Micro and, including all the ones I've seen, they include a brass nozzle. Those are rated for high temp material. If E3D decides to make a copper or Obxidian version, then it could be high temp.

Generally heat creep affects PLA more than any other filament type, regardless of print temperature, since it expands the most when it gets warm. I don’t know about the Revo, but I’m guessing since it is a complete system from a single vendor, and since it would be very hard to screw up the assembly because all of the spacing between the heater, cold break and cold end are fixed by the nozzle, it might be fine, despite the tiny heat sink fan. That is total supposition though.

I think I might eventually give the Revo a go on my Delta to see if I can save some weight at the effector. The one with the threaded screw mount should be a straight swap on a smart effector, right? I’ve decided this time though to not go in with the first wave, and hold off until I see performance data on production units.
