Not 3D printing specifically, but last night I gave the H2 series cutter head a try.

Really crazy easy, and cuts really well and fast compared to my Silhouette Cameo. I have a Cameo because I’ll combine stickers with 3D prints.

I asked ChatGTP for some sticker appropriate images of Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson. Removed the backgrounds and dropped the PNG into Bambu Suite. It automatically traces the image, and you can adjust the border/etc. per image.

Then just hit “print and cut” and it sends the cut file to the H2, and prints the image sheet on your inkjet.

The H2 print heads have several cameras, and it uses the camera to align to reg marks on your print, then proceeds to cut.

The results are perfect. I’m surprised how glitch free and usable this first round of software is. It’s way more intuitive than the Cameo software (haven’t used Cricut so I can’t say about theirs). The software end and ease of use is how Bambu took over printing, they’ll definitely knock out dedicated cutters and lasers if they step into that space.

My Cameo was $300 or so, the cutter head is $69. Really recommend it to those with an H2 series, as it will be stupid easy to incorporate stickers into your 3D prints.

Interesting.  The funny thing is that before getting my H2D, I was using my cameo to make vinyl labels for some of my game boxes and inserts.  The Cameo software is a hot mess and the bluetooth connectivity is not much better.  All that being said, with my H2D, I'm actually abandoning vinyl labels and incorporating the label design into the surface of the box / insert.  Very happy with the result and it is so much easier to just set up the AMS and let it rip.  Course, I had to further Fusion360-fu skills to get it to work the way I want, but overall very happy with it.

I'm still going to look into the cutter, $69 would save a ton of frustration that I still have with the silhouette software and the cameo for other projects.  The only hesitation is that some of my cuts are on material that is larger than the bambu bed.

Bryan & Ray - the pics in this discussion are quite cool. Will admit - I have a bunch of questions - but, unsure where to start.

IT made me think of a discussion from a while ago. The idea of have occasional Video Chat meetups. Something Joe the 3DP Prof did a while ago - I believe. But, yeah - my be fun to do a thing - off and on - to organize a Video chat - where folks can simply share about projects they are working on!

And, now that I write this - I'm thinking - DANG - maybe I should just start a new thread with this idea!!! It would allow us to chat - but, also put Faces to Names. Although - by now - most folks ALREADY Know what I look like...

Anyway - it's a thought. Sorry to hi-jack this thread. And, yeah - GREAT Pics from both of you!!!

-K

Those look great Ray!

Yes - Silhouette Studio is a hot mess plus you have to PAY for it beyond basic level.
