I can NOT Believe I am having these problems - and I can NOT Start up the print job!

Sadly - my Camera phone SUCKS - it can't even capture colors right. Look at this pic:
Snap_U1 Issue_01.jpeg

Slot 1 should look Blue - 2 should look Yellow - it DOES on the UI. But, see the red box? Why does it show TWO different kinds of Icons?? Also - there is NO real Purple selection on the UI.

Here is my loaded filament:
Snap_U1 Issue_04.jpeg

So - I go to start up the print - UI shows this:
Snap_U1 Issue_02.jpeg

Yellow shows Slot 1. Which is WRONG!

Then - when I try to change filament slots:
Snap_U1 Issue_03.jpeg

Picking Slot 2 - it does NOTHING! WHY?!?!?

It literally will NOT allow me to pic a Different Slow - like this part of the UI is Broken!!!

The eyeball icon means the information was read from an RFID tag.

Ah - VERY Interesting! Yeah - the slots 3 & 4 is Snapmaker spools - so that makes sense.

I was so Very frustrated this morning - trying to get this print job started - and it made me late in prepping for work. So - I had to take a Quick shower. Well, I do my Best thinking in the shower - and THAT is when I realized the problem. I setup Filament #2 on the printer as PCTG - BUT, in my Project setup in the slicer it has PETG in Slot # 2! Looking closer at the pics above - it's obvious that's the scenario. I was in Such a rush trying to start the print job - I just didn't realize my mistake...

Does the U1 let you sync loaded filaments to the slicer like Bambu does?

That Synching idea sounds AWESOME!!!!

But, I have NO Idea if the U1 can do it...

Honestly - I'm bad about this stuff. I don't even properly dig into what my new printers can do - or properly connect to them over my network - I just use them as is - and push them to print COOL Stuff!

This print I could NOT start this morning - it's printing NOW - once I figured out the solution (setting the material to PCTG in the Slicer)...

I wonder if Luke knows the answer about Synching!?!?!?

I’ve only seen the synch function on Bambu Studio and it seems to me it is coupled to the rfid tags on the Bambu spools read by the AMS.

Interesting - Because, yeah - the U1 has the RFID thing!

But, it's only good for the SnapMaker spools - none of the other spools have RFID - AFAIK...

It's a pity that OpenPrintTag never took off:

It was a good idea.

Bambu Studio syncs whatever your AMS has loaded, Bambu filament or not. You just have to manually enter it when you load the AMS. I never use Bambu filament personally, I mainly use Polymaker.

Actually this would be a good discussion for the podcast. How the various manufacturers handle getting material/color information into the slicers with the explosion of multicolor printers. Bambu, Creality, Snapmaker, LightMake, Sovol, etc.

Since most of them are seemingly using a fork of Orca, and Orca is forked off Bambu Studio they should all have the ability to sync if the printer hardware/firmware supports it.
