This actually started awhile ago, but I can’t seem to resolve it.
I get the LiDAR lens dirty message and nothing will fix it.
It still prints fine, but it’s annoying and you’d think by now they would do something about it.
I’m seeing it happens with each of their machines,

I got this once on my kickstarter machine, it turned out not to be the lens but the calibration board had some junk on it.

"Calibration board"?

I thought the calibration stuff was done via markings on the build plate - or at least part of it. Is this "board" separate from the build plate?

I'm honestly curious...

No you’re right. It calibrates on a pattern that’s off to the right side of the plate.
I’ve cleaned the lens quite carefully, cleaned the side sensors too, cleaned the calibration pattern and ran the calibration. Nothing resets the warning. Looking online I see that this is also happening with each of their other machines.

I ended up having to replace the Lidar thing to get that error message to go away. Cleaning didn’t help.

It seems to work fine as far as I can tell. It looks to me that it’s actually a firmware bug.

I have had some epic runs with this very topic that have stretched into several months. Yes, that is right, M O N T H S.  The TLDR version: Bambu has not just firmware bugs but design flaws, failed design concepts, and public products based on flawed technology.  Has Bambu admitted to this or acknowledged this issue? No, they have not, nor will they. What I will do is not focus on why it's flawed, but instead show what the system is using and why it throws these error messages.

First, with a print start, it will scan the calibration board.  I have included a FAILED scan from my X1C to show what a failed scan looks like, as well as a passed scan.

This is a fail, This is a MAJOR fail, just looking at this image, you can clearly see how and why it's a fail.  Yes, I use ASA and ABS in the printer, and I use them in large quantities.  This is a clarity fail.

See how murky this is? Looks like there is a film over the lens, yes, there is.  You can take a Q-tip and use some eye glass cleaner, plexiglass safe, and wipe the round lens to clean it.  What many confuse with clean is the gap where the sticker is with an arrow, which is not the clean point but the light source.

The calibration sticker is not aligned correctly, and is on the right side of the bed.  You can wipe this off with whatever but you should also clean the lens on the toolhead as well.

This is the SAME scan but one that passes.

Now, one thing that can make a significant difference and a design flaw on the X1C is this.... LIGHT.  If you use outside '3rd party lights' that include ambient room lights, which can interfere with the printer, then yes, it can and will.  Here is how.  This is a filament scan from the X1C.

If the ambient light is too much, that will cause the calibrations, checks, and tests to fail.  Same with the build plate color.

Too much automation, too much complexity in a system.
You would think that some would see this as an opportunity, but… the Chinese are
not profit driven so they price their products below cost. Thereby pushing out competitors.
