There’s a new fork of BambuSlicer that’s incorporating Z “anti-aliasing”. Reads like it’s a non planar slicing of top layers to smooth contours and reduce stair stepping.

Not sure if it works on the H2C yet, but should work on my X1C. I plan to download it tonight and give it a try with some test prints.

Anybody have something that would be a good candidate to try?

A pyramid would be a good thing to try :-)

As would a hemisphere.

Good suggestions on you Sir!

Since the Bambu Slicer is essentially a fork of Orca - I wonder if this new capability will get rolled back into the original Orca and forks of Orca like the SnapMaker & Elegoo slicers!?!?!?!?

Kurt

Bamboo is not a fork of Orca.

It went this way

Sli3er->PrusaSlicer -> Bamboo -> Orca
  !
  V
Cura

But no one stoped evolving so its like this

   Cura (long ago) —> Cura (today)
   A
   !
Sli3er->PrusaSlicer—> PrusaSlicer
                    !
                    V
            Bamboo(a longer while ago) —> Bamboo(today)
                    !
                    V
                   Orca(awhile ago)—>Orca(today)

But then there are all these back arcs as features move between them (And I give up drawing it)

   Cura (long ago) —> Cura (today)
   A
   !
Sli3er->PrusaSlicer—> PrusaSlicer
                    !
                    V
            Bamboo(a longer while ago) —> Bamboo(today)
                    !
                    V
                   Orca(awhile ago)—>Orca(today)

Kurt, Orca is a fork of Bambu, not the other way around.

Bambu is a fork of PrusaSlicer, which is based on Slic3r.

They all really need to be re-written from the ground up for multi-threading.
