Considering the other discussions currently - about enclosing of the Prusa XL - and my own endeavors to control the air flow (recirculate & filter it - also, FYI - I've been doing more work on that Mod lately - will soon follow-up to the forum about it!) in my Elegoo Centauri - I'm now considering a Topper unit for my U1.
So - this past weekend I was looking at this combo:
Would the above purchase actually be Worth It???
This would not only allow me to enclose it - but, also - evenly heat the chamber and ALSO Filter the air that's circulating in the chamber - to potentially scrub all the plastic VOC's out of the air - before opening the door to pull out the print job.
There are a couple concerns I have. As mentioned by the OTHER Kurt - you don't want to heat chamber TOO Much - cause many of the printer components are essentially with in the general chamber area - namely - all the tool heads!
But, something else I need to point out. If you look at the front of the U1 - the Left side of the machine actually has air holes - so VOC's can leak out those holes - even if chamber is enclosed. Not sure if that is the only set of holes for air coming in and out of the chamber.
Which brings up another thing I DO NOT Like about the U1 - the spools are all sitting in open air - so, if you dry your spools - once you put them on the machine - they WILL Begin to collect moisture.
Anyway - that's it for now. I look forward to the feedback - especially from those folks already owning the U1 unit.
