Not sure how many folks here actually use something like ZBrush for organic sculpting type modeling. Myself, I don't - but, I DID use Sculptris a LOT in the past - and it was bought up by the Pixologic/ZBrush folks. I'm just curious to know what happened, in regards to this email I got - whether its Maxon (of Cinema 4D fame) bought up Pixologic - or maybe its the reverse.

And - I'd be curious to know if anyone else here is a big fan of the old Sculptris program? My Alien head creation was done purely w/Sculptris - and final modeling/sculpting of my Dragon head was also done w/Sculptris.

Am actually going to post a pic of my Alien head creature in this post.

Important Information about Your ZBrush License

During the month of September, your ZBrush account will be transferred to MyMaxon. At that time, a MyMaxon account will be created for you, if you don't have one already (your email address will be your username). Once the migration has completed, you will receive an email with a password reset link so you can finalize your account. You will then be able to browse your order history on the MyMaxon portal. However, you will not be able to make modifications to your account until the end of September.

For more information, please visit the ZBrush Migration FAQ.

We look forward to everyone coming together later this year for the annual ZBrush Summit.

Please note: As a result of this migration, your ZBrush license is now subject to the terms and conditions of Maxon’s EULA (“End User License Agreement”). And please be assured your personal data is safe with us. For further information on how Maxon processes your personal data, please see our Privacy Policy.

I'm pretty sure Maxon acquired Pixologic, they are the bigger company with more products. I got the same email for my ZB license. I have a friend that went to work for the ZB side since the merger, lots of plans in the works for new features and integrations between ZB and their flagship 3d app Cinema4d.

Maxon is going the same route as Adobe Creative Cloud with a "hub" that all their programs can be subscribed to through/obtain thro license through. They seem to be leaning into being the one stop vendor for 3d graphics (modeling, sculpting, rendering, compositing, etc...)
