OK - I'm going to make this initial part of the posting SHORT and SWEET! But, I WILL be following up with more shortly...

Short version of story - I did a quick one week trip to NY from OH this holiday week - took 3 days off from work - combined with Gobble Gobble Day off - and them giving co. Fri. off from work as well - I had a WHOLE Week off! IT was my 1st REAL Break since I started at this new job. But, it was NOT a Relaxing time off!!! As I was on a Serious Mission - in regards to my Storage unit back in NY! Anyway...

While going thru my stuff - I found some FUN 3DP related items.

I came across this box - which I had re-used and labeled it:
MBI Parts Box.jpg

And, I found fun stuff inside:
Cupcake Parts.jpg

Now that was TRULY a Flashback - to the original MakerBot CupCake days!!! And, I didn't know I would come across something like that - did NOT Remember it was in Storage.

But, the next pic - it's stuff I Of Course KNEW was in there. So - here's a fun pic. This is AFTER I Re-orged and moved ALL my stuff into a New Storage unit - from my old one (dropping monthly price from $460 to $97/mo. - which was the WHOLE Point of my Adventure). In this pic you will see my SuperCupCake (and, yeah - that was a reference/nickname that other folks - like JetGuy - gave a name to the machine - as it WAS JetGuy who did it - reworking a Type-A Series machine - I think that is the name - into it being a SuperCupCake - cause he used the Electronics from my original CupCake machine - and implemented it into the NEW Machine - and literally Doubled my print volume from 100mm cubed to essentially 200mm cubed) - sitting on top of my StrataSys Mojo machine (and, yeah - that Bungie cord wrapped around it - I implemented that years ago when I was using it - cause I broke the front door part of the hinge - the door to the build chamber). Also - the Wash System for my Mojo - That is in the pic - and pointed to by the Red Arrow and in the Red box:
Mojo_Wash_n_SCC.jpg

So, yeah - I WILL be following up with MORE on this thread - with more pics - soon...

Hey Kurt,

Cool blast from the past.

I remember the laser cut Type A machines, maybe from 2013.

IIRC….
That’s not a TypeA officially. It’s laser cut by Jetguy using the open sourced files.
The rest is from parts he had lying around.

Thanks for that feedback Andy and the clarifications. IT was SO Long ago - I just didn't remember all the details. AFAIK - he had this unit - and it was already a functioning unit - but, then he replaced the electronics from my CupCake into this unit. But, this again is from my bad memory modules - which tend not to always produce valid thought values...

I guess lucky for me my Son just gave away his Makerbot Replicator 2 as well as I think a Lutzbot, and I only have as a backup printer his maker gear M2.

Well... I still have that Monoprice iiiip which I have used as a spool holder when I had an oversized spool I needed something to hang on for my XL.

Sounds like you were paying the price of a PRUSA XL a year for storage.

Yes - storage prices are INSANE -- and the whole industry is run like a SCAM! Just think - that 2 equivalent units (like 10x10') - side by side - and one person is paying like $95/mo - while the 2nd person is paying $500/mo. - that is a TOTAL Ripoff! Someone should do a Class action suit against the Entire industry!!!

OK Folks - time for more of a Blast from the past!!!!

1 Pic - Two Parts - 2nd lower part I posted an old pic in another thread - on cloth printing. But, yeah - I was super happy to find that print and be able to post the original print again.

The 2nd part - the upper one - it's my rocket design. IT was printed with the original FilaBlend filament - I think that was the name - I got some at MRRF 2018. So - it's 3 colors - like AIM Toothpaste. As such depending on  which side of the object you look at - it's a different color. And, on the in between angles - it's a color mix.

So here's the pic:
More Fun Finds.jpg

I got some more items - that I need to take pics of - and share them soon.

I hope Everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving (although - yeah - that's a tad over 1.5 weeks now...).

-K
P.S. Yeah - sometimes I HATE GOOD Pics of print jobs - as a Good pic reveals TOO Many of the bad parts of a print...

OK - time for another quickie update!

The following pic is another item I found in my storage unit. It was probably printed around 2016 or 2017. I did NOT design the part. But, the interesting part is that it's Bronze filled filament. And, supposedly (although I NEVER Tried doing it) - one can supposedly Burnish a part printed with this filament - to make it shiny and actually LOOK like Metal! So - here you have it...
