Slicer Ninja - Really? Token based slicing? In this day and age?

Saw some FB ads for this and was curious.  They finally went live on Kickstarter (yeah, for a slicer).

Conceptually sounds interesting, but really, using a licensing model that is evidently all based on purchasing credits, which you cash in every. time. you. slice. just seems like they don't know their market.

Could be wrong, but really?

A couple years ago at my CG conference (SIGGraph in Colorado in 2024) I got to see a chat between NVidia CEO Jensen and FB CEO Zuck - and they were literally Yucking it up - it was AWESOME to see them chatting - but, a HUGE part of that chat surrounded the idea of Nvidia HW & Meta AI SW. 

And, that REALLY Got my brain spinning BIG TIME - in regards to a concept I had come up with a few months before. So - hearing these guys chat - it made me REALLY Want to try and make it happen. Yeah - it was essentially like this Slicer Ninja (did NOT Look at URL yet - I really gotta get ready for work) - the idea of indeed doing a universal type Slicer - and using AI to produce an AI engine to do it. 

WHY?

Because there are SO MANY Nuances in slicing - between machines - nozzle sizes - filaments (even between different colors of the same brand) - all the complications like Coasting & Infill & Layer height - and also Model orientation. It's a LOT that one must learn - and now with 3D Printer becoming a true consumer commodity - it kinda makes sense to do this. 

But - the big issue - How to make money from doing it. So - yeah, token payments kinda make sense.

However - yeah - would people REALLY Be Willing to Pay???
