After getting somewhat successful pp prints without an enclosed chamber, ( going to buy or build one soon ), I need to move on. So I have several rolls of peba I just got from a kickstarter that I need to start working with. This is 90a shore peba. 9 hours into a 25 hour print. Looking good so far. Had to super clean the bed with 91% alcohol. I was interested in seeing how those long supports through the middle were going to come out. About like I figured, not completely sure why prusa slicer put them in?

Hard to tell from the pic - did you get a Fail??

Also - I never heard of PEBA. Is it something Super Special? And, if so - what is the properties that MAKE it so Special??

Peba, polyether block amide,  ( i think that's right  )  is supposed to be the tpu replacement.  It stronger, bouncier, and easier to print, so they say. I haven't printed tpu successfully ( haven't tried a whole lot ). My first peba print came off the bed after a few layers. So I switched to a newer cleaner plate.  Adhesion has been good. Print nearing the end. I'm running slow 30 to 40 mm for travels. I dont mind adding time to get a successful print. Print is a cyclops head, hollow on inside, supports on outside. Woll let you know how easy supports come off.

I haven't tried PEBA (yes it is Polyether Block Amide) yet, I will have to get some and give it a go on my V400 since that thing is a TPU printing beast. Been wanting to try some shoes. Maybe beach sandals or something.

My first print is finished. I really pushed the limits making it hollow, but I need that to put electronics inside. I went with 3 perimeters, could have used a couple more layers on top, its really thin. Could have used a few more supports. Supports came off e

asy on about 2/3 of model. Used flush cutters on rest except brim that I used scissors on. The adhesion between layers is very strong. Have to try my 85a next.

David - Nice pic!

But, it now all BEGS the Question - WHY print this kinda Head in a TPU? You must have a certain reason behind it??? Because, yeah - TPU can be much trickier to print - and it also depends on the Shore Level - real soft ones are more of a PITA. My VERY First test of TPU - on my then SuperCupCake - was kinda FUBAR. Turns out - that's when I learned of TPU that's not AS soft - and THEN I had success!

I actually have a project I am DYING to start printing in TPU - but, there's a problem - with General 3D Printing - that's holding me back lately...

However, that's for a new thread - not for this one...

Basically so it can be a "skin" over a frame for a robotic head. The final project will go out on my fence to be a "security" guard. I was going to use a mechanical eye where the eye is, but am experimenting with vibe coding to make eye graphics on a 1.28inch tft lcd. They are cheap. Got 3 for like $12. Having some good luck so far, but its not easy. Final head needs to be a little larger.
