Thanks Bryan, I put $20.00 down too.

Not everyone knows that Funnsor makes an aluminum parts kit that replaces the plastic parts: https://funssorlab.com/products/preorder-sovol-sv08-cnc-machined-xyz-kit-designed-by-nadir?VariantsId=10459

I've got the kit, just no time to install it yet.

The parts look very ince.

I am your first partner in crime! They got my $20. Not 100% sure I will buy it, but sure nice to get in on the early bird.

P.S. never messed with sovol before, how is their reliability?

David,

Sovol sort of shot themselves by cheaping out on some electronics.

They used an 8gb memory module at a time when 32gb modules were just a little bit more money.

Klipper got bigger and needed more resources faster than Sovol anticipated, and many problems could be traced to a pi board with net enough memory.

Sovol is very open source, I've toyed with the idea of using a Big tree octopus like the rest of the diy Klipper world.

I'm not sure either, if I do get it then it will replace my FLSun V400.

I'm mainly interested in it since the V400 is my TPU machine and I want to do some multi-material coasters with TPU - which can be a real pain in the @ss on my H2C.

I would hope for $1800 release price they don’t skimp on things.

Really at that price it should be enclosed too, and looks like it should likely have an add on.

Hope springs eternal, but you never know with Sovol.

Their SV08 enclosure retails for $180.00, I think I paid $140.00 for mine.

Sovol offers enough value that you have to deal with their little shortcomings.

You could not buy or make a kit this cheap.

Honestly I was expecting an SV08 with an INDX integrated into it.

The fact that it's an IDEX makes me even more excited, though I would still have liked the INDX system. The animations on this one look like it will be decent though, and those are usually made from actual CAD drawings. I print a lot of things in multiples so the IDEX will be very useful.
