First of all - Wishing Happy Holidays to the 3DP Hive Mind here!
I wanted to share a little project I did - for which some 3D Printing was involved.
I received this from my apartment complex on Dec. 1st. I had an idea of what I wanted to do, but I was busy with other things at the time - and was not sure I even wanted to put in all the effort to do it. But, this past weekend - I did a walk about on the 4th(top) floor of my building (as that's my floor) - and also on the 1st floor - and saw NO Serious door decorations. So, I figured I might have a shot at it. I bought up supplies this Mon. (2 days ago) after work - to implement my idea. I stopped by front desk, to chat with the folks that run the building - and they admitted they have gotten VERY Few submissions for the contest. And, at that point - I KNEW I had a shot at winning. This was the Flyer sent via email:

So, my idea was to Wrap my Door & make it look like a big gift box for under a Christmas tree. It's not an original idea - as I've seen people do it before. I just figured I would take a shot at doing it - and it would make for a good submission. Anyway - this was my door before I started:
One key item was the gift tag. It's what people use to tell folks who the gift is From - and who it's going To. So, I did a quick 3D Design, and printed out the letters Mon. Night - whilst also working on the door - while the letters were printing. This is those letters on the build plate:
Then, at work yesterday - I created the gift tag and applied the letters:
Finally - it was time to finish Wrapping the door & implement the gift tag:
Now it's time to submit that pic for the contest! Since, yeah - a month of Free Rent would be a GREAT Gift for me for the holidays!
