Thanks for your feedback. I definitely want to avoid creating anything from scratch - since I know that would make it a big project. No way am I going down that rabbit hole. Now, if you look closely at a couple of those "Things" - they do mention usage of O-rings. Which, I believe are rubber rings that you can get at a hardware store. So, not really necessary to print in TPU - but, the TPU thing is not a bad idea, since then you can also design Bumps into it to help with the grip. Still - I think the O-rings MAY possibly work better than TPU -as I think the TPU may come out TOO smooth.
So, nope - they surely are not regular playing cards. There are more and more kinds of board and card games out there that are new concepts - and this is one of them. As such, totally different than regular playing cards. But, you Bring up a Good point! Since, I need to find out from my son HOW many cards would need to be shuffled - and thus - what is the total height of the stack! As I will also have to modify what ever card shuffler I decide to print - to allow it to hold a bigger stack of cards.
Will post back here once I begin to move forwards on this project.

Wow those are some chunky cards! Are they just usual playing cards? I'm thinking, because you have chunkiness on your side you could potentially design something like a crankshaft (like in an engine) with arms that could push the cards in sequence to the centre. Following some of those links was interesting. I'll have to look at some of those for some of my board games.
On that note, reading through the comments on this one Fully Printed Card Shuffler by thomaswoerner1 - ThingiverseShowed someone who remixed it on Printables with some improvements here: Playing Card Shuffler v2 by Lukas Cenovsky | Download free STL model | Printables.comand he then remixed it again for a V3 here: Playing Card Shuffler v3 by Lukáš Cenovský | Download free STL model | Printables.comThis last one has a video of assembly and shuffling, and looks very cool. I think this design is really neat since all the pieces print flat, and then you fit them together. I think this would be any easy modification to handle the unique size and thickness of your son's cards since all the pieces are simple prints. That v3 version already supports three different sizes. You might even get him to give you the files or make the mods for you.Really neat.

Cool - am glad I guessed correctly! On that subject - I'm a big fan of Rummikub. You ever play that before?
Also, I forgot to mention. On that Printables page - the guy offers up OpenSCAD files for the card shuffler design. So, I could actually modify those files so it would work with my son's cards. However, in Reality - it may simply be Much easier to just scale the STL parts - as opposed to editing the OpenSCAD files, as I'm not fully well versed in OpenSCAD. Am sure I could figure it out though...
