Hello there Mr. Cook.
Thanks for sharing. It is interesting stuff indeed.
I know there are semi-translucent PLA and PETG filaments. Are some of those types of filaments already in the catalog for HueForge? I'm just curious. I did read the writeup about how the SW works, its pretty cool. But, yeah, was wondering if the current catalog of filaments for usage are truly standard PLA type opaque filaments. And, it does indeed make sense that a grey or black filament has a MUCH lower TD value.

Yeah, Andy - it does look interesting. I'd be intrigued to see you dive into it a little, and then maybe chat about it as a topic on your podcast.
Now, I know its discussed on the site that HueForge can be accomplished with filament swapping. But, since you have your new XL toolchanger - I'd be rather intrigued to see what you could accomplish with it. Heck, if the original suggestion for HF was manual filament swapping - that means, in your case - if you did swapping - you could potentially use like what - 8 or 10 filaments - assuming a single swap per tool?
Of course, I'm sure you already have plenty on your plate.

Hueforge? ooo... That looks like fun... Thanks!
Discord? I'm not into realtime group chats, but for sure I would not say no if folks here wanted to do something like that. I used Discord once in working with those weird feeders I had on the TC a couple years back. It did not work well at all. The devs were in Aus. and the time diff made it impossible. I also did a group chat with some 3D Printing related Patreon folks. It was fun for awhile, but it took too much of my time.

Justus - did you print that? Is it all PLA?
Honestly, I look at that - its Cool - but, I think if it was all printed in ABS - and then an Acetone Vapor smoothing was applied to the print - it could smooth it all out and clean up problematic areas. But, don't know if the whole colors things will hold up to the Smoothing!
How many filaments were used? 3 Colors of PLA???

The thing that caught my eye about HueForge are the results like this
I know very little about it but figured it would be a good news topic at least. As for Discord I could help make a server to test and set up if you want Andy, and later hand over right to you to be the owner. if you ever want to give it a shot let me know. I think I might be a good supplement to this forum instead of a replacement.

Thanks for the feedback Mr. Cook.
Also - Anthony - just want to make one comment in regards to what you stated, especially since Andy the Podcast host, actually mentioned it in another reply of his just the past couple days (or maybe I heard him say it in a podcast episode). That is, in regards to your statement of "very small layer heights (.04 to .08)" - that can be rather problematic, as its difficult enough to get down to a 0.1mm layer height, much less one even smaller than that.
But, your feedback is still good to know!

Will admit, Dragon & Baby Yoda look pretty cool. Han Solo, Aztec & Viking look pretty WILD! But, that Sunflower - the pic in your screenshot looks like a Flower and NOT an actual 3D Print. Is there a pic (I see the 4 dots under that pic) - that shows the actual 3D Printed output of that Flower???

Hello,
I'd love to hear other people's experience with Hueforge. It sounds like the software is pretty low effort "plug and play" vs lithopanes. Some nice ones below (hard to believe they are 3d filament)
If it helps anyone find inspiration, Thangs, which will search across Thingiverse, Cults, Printables. Link here: https://thangs.com/tag/hueforgeThangs has a Discord too, but the conversation seems limited to the designer contests and how to win gift cards

Wow Jason - your Parrot Litho looks AMAZING!
The 3rd pic of the HueForge items - did you print them?
After seeing your Parrot Litho - I feel I should really post a couple of my Parrot pics...
...but, I don't have them here on this PC.

WOW Jason - VERY COOL Video on CNCKitchen!
Sorry I missed at the 2022 RRF. Been tough for me lately in the past few years after MRRF 2018 where we met up.
Will you be at OC MF at the end of this month?
Andy - will you be coming to OC Maker Faire?
As of now - I WILL be there assisting one of the Booths at the Faire!
