I have a buddy of mine who is Very Pessimistic. He knows I recently bought the Elegoo Carbon. He saw this video - and Immediately assumes that my Carbon will NEVER Get an AMS - since that's what this guy is hinting at:     ELEGOO Jupiter SE LCD 3D Printer

I know several other folks on here have a Carbon like mine.

Your thoughts?!?!?

This was posted on the official ECC Facebook group just yesterday.
Plus there's been some chatter that folks have been having some testing success with a specific ams from AliExpress. No specifics on the exact one or any posted completed prints, so take it with a grain of salt. But still, it's being posted by several different people so maybe?

They haven't said one way or the other officially, but my bet is they won't release an AMS for the CC1.  No matter, I didn't spend much on this thing.  That may motivate me to upgrade it to an INDX!

Sean & Bryan - thanks so much for your replies. Interesting posting on FB. Am actually kinda bummed that it's looking more and more like the AMS for my Carbon may not happen. Honestly - I'm surprised that someone hasn't taken the Bambu AMS and tried to implement it on an Elegoo Carbon.

AS for an INDX upgrade. Bryan - you mean - you're looking to potentially do your Own upgrade to your printer? If so - Please do keep us posted!!!

I would certainly look at their AMS unit if they release it, but I wouldn't be surprised if Elegoo just moves on. Many others have shared this sentiment, but in the case of my CC purchase, I got it for what it's capable of right now, not any promised unreleased features – if those features come to fruition, that's just additional value I get out of it, but there is no expectation for it. That certainly helps prevent me from feeling regret anyway.

Regarding the CC itself, I've been very happy with mine – a very impressive printer, especially for the price, and a huge upgrade from my heavily modified Ender 3v2.

Yo Sean - thanks for sharing that. Will admit - DANG - I am super bummed about seeing that!

Unlike Nick - I DID indeed get this printer - not ONLY because it's a Cheap direct knock-off of the CX1 - but, also Because of the impending potential AMS unit.

However, at this point - it is what it is! No use crying over spilled Milk...

I knew it was a risk but I took the leap anyway.  I am disappointed, but I also got my money's worth (this thing was $300 afterall).

My only current annoyance is I can't really get the chamber temp up above about 33ºC.  I was able to get it a little hotter in the dead of summer, but now it's a struggle.  Close it up, put the bed at 110 and turn the fan on to recirculate the air, it just doesn't get hot enough.  If I could get it another 10-20º hotter I'd be happy.

Good timing on this discussion – Elegoo just posted this on their site: https://www.elegoo.com/blogs/news/update-notice-on-centauri-carbon

TLDR: they are giving current CC owners the choice of a discount on filament, an extended warranty, or discount for the CC2.

Seems like the writing is on the wall that a AMS unit will not be coming for this machine.

Nick - you seem a little late to this particular party. If you look above, at Sean's reply, right before my last reply - Sean already posted that exact link you just posted.

Personally - I think the offers by Elegoo - for filament discounts or a discount off a new machine purchase (the ECC2 w/AMS) - it ALL Stinks!!! NONE are good options. Seriously NOT Good options. Sure - demand we have to purchase $100 of filament - to get $50 off! Really kinda Dumb! Why would I order a ton of filament online from Elegoo - which I can Easily get all the filament I need, at probably Better prices - simply by going to MC!

So - Yeah - their offerings to current CC owners really kinda SUCK!!!

Anyway...

Ha, yep, I feel dumb – I missed Sean's post and was replying to yours and Bryan's afterwards.

As for me, I'm debating between the filament and extended warranty offers – I'm going to stick with the CC1 for a while, and any machine with a material switching system I look at in the future would hope to be a tool changer of some kind.

No need to feel Dumb - mistakes happen! You're only human.

As much as I ranted about the options they gave, and that I have an MC near me - yeah - I will probably go for the filament option!

Another post this morning in FB group from Elegoo concerning the ams for the ECC.  They say it's still in development but unsure of delivery date.

Sean - from what I have seen - it SEEMS that the AMS type unit will ONLY be for the newer ECC2 unit - and won't work for the ECC1 units - which is what I have as well as the other folks here on the forum.

I've seen new postings on Reddit about this. There was a Customer Support response:

Dear Customer,

Sincerely sorry to hear that, hope my mail finds you everything well. This is Leo from elegoo support team.

We sincerely appreciate your feedback and offer our most heartfelt apologies for the poor experience you had where your previous contact with customer service failed to yield an effective response and your core questions remained unanswered. This was an oversight on our part, and we are truly remorseful for having let down your patience and trust.

We have carefully reviewed your feedback and all communication records, and we fully understand the anxiety and dissatisfaction you feel due to the delayed release of the MMU system. We are acutely aware that our unfulfilled commitment to its launch in the third quarter of 2025 has prevented you from participating in the upgrade of 3D printing technology, and even led you to consider abandoning the CC1. For this, we apologize once again.

Regarding the MMU system, we wish to provide the following update: the system is still in the final phase of technical compatibility testing and optimization. To ensure its compatibility and stability, and to avoid a hasty launch that would compromise the user experience, we have delayed its release.

Based on the current testing progress, we expect to officially launch the system in the second quarter of 2026, with the exact release date subject to the final results from our R&D department.

Going forward, we will optimize our customer service training and progress synchronization mechanisms to ensure greater rigor and transparency in our communications.

Thank you for your understanding and tolerance, and we earnestly ask for another chance to serve you better. Wishing you a pleasant life and all the best in everything!

Regards,

Leo Liu

ELEGOO Support Team

I got my fingers crossed!!!

Kurt,

Look, Elegoo is offering their AMS for $350, like everyone else, and throwing in the Centauri Carbon 2 for $99.00. : https://www.microcenter.com/product/704705/elegoo-centauri-carbon-2-combo-3d-printer

Mark - you SLAY ME WITH Your Humor!!!

I do get your joke - also, the extra part of your joke - that maybe I should buy another printer! In fact, I'm now SERIOUSLY Getting back into 3D Design and 3D Printing - and, if I had a Second ECC - I could bang out MORE parts in the same amount of time!

So - I am SERIOUSLY TEMPTED to get this new ECC2. However, that being said - 2 downsides...
  1. I hear folks complaining about the new ECC2 on Reddit - bitching about things like the Print head re-design.
  2. I think the Elegoo version of an AMS kinda SUCKS - as the spools are NOT in a Drying unit - like the Bambu unit for the X1C's (but the Elegoo IS Like the other Bambu units - like the ones that have the weird external version of the AMS type feeder - which does NOT contain the spools).

Those 2 reasons are why I am wary of this new ECC & AMS. Yeah - if they did the AMS for the ECC1 - it would be the same. Also - WTF is with that big Stupid box unit on the top of it!?!?!? - I guess it has to do with the flexing of the bowden feeder tubes - but, I think it's an Ugly looking design - and kinda weird!

Still - I MAY Actually contemplate getting the ECC2 & AMS!

Kurt,

If you're concerned about the Centauri 2, Microcenter has Bambu P1S combos for a little more.

Notice that they have a 4.9 rating, with a bizillion reviews.
