Will feature tools.jar(v.2.14.00) support CPU versions?

For the ENCODE HiC data processing pipeline (https://github.com/ENCODE-DCC/hic-pipeline), for intact HiC, the standard process is to use the following command: 

java -Ddevelopment=false -Djava.awt.headless=true \

-Xmx60G -Xms60G -jar feature_tools.jar hiccups2 \
-k SCALE --threads 15 ENCFF182ATF.hic loops

note that this is only for intact HiC, however, the  feature_tools.jar  runs with the GPU, has any consideration been given to adding --cpu version of feature_tools.jar? Like  https://github.com/aidenlab/juicer/wiki/CPU-HiCCUPS
