I currently use Microsoft Small Business Server version 4.5 for my small
office (5 workstations). I use a USR 56K modem for dial up access to my ISP
by way of Proxy Server for web browsing and internet e-mail.

I want to install ISDN for the extra speed but don't understand which is my
best solution for terminating the ISDN line, router or ISDN modem. When
would I need an ISDN router and when can I just use an ISDN modem? Which is
the best solution in my situation.

Thanks in advance...Ron..

Which device is best would depend on your needs. If you require a point to point
ISDN connection then a modem would be fine. If you require a device which will
allow a pool of IP's to be routed through itself then the router would be best.
Modems will always function as modems and routers will function as routers. (i.e
ATM, T1,ISDN - routers or ISDN,56K, 33.6, 28.8 modems)

Hope this helps,
Fred
