Hello Crane friends!
We wanted to drop you a line with a few notable items.
First, Crane Chatter! Leesa Kern has recently revived our periodical newsletter, and you'll find it attached here. Inside, you'll find some information about the current goings-on of the grove, as well thoughts about liturgical practices and ideas from grove members. Enjoy!
We also want to alert you to upcoming events in the month of October:
- Thursday, October 17: Druid Study Hall
As druids we often have a lot of study and writing projects. Bring whatever you're working on and your preferred composition materials. We might work companionably quietly, or might get a discussion going — we'll just see how it goes.
6:30pm at Cornerstone Deli in Clintonville (just up the street from The Magical Druid), 3296 N High St. - Thursday, October 24: Craft Night — Polymer Clay Icons
Join us for a night of crafting as we make icons of our own using polymer clay! We’ll be led by grove member Traci, the current chief of ADF’s Artisan’s Guild.
***Please note that this is a pay-what-you-can event, due to the materials cost. Whether you are able to pay or not, please visit the event page on our website for details, and to register if you intend to attend, so Traci can be prepared.
6:30pm at The Magical Druid in Clintonville, 3165 N High St.
Our next High Day is the October Cross-Quarter, (i.e. Samhain) on Sunday, October 27. We'll be honoring Hades & Persephone, the Queen and King of the Underworld among the Greeks. We will also be honoring our beloved dead, as is appropriate to the season, and going on a trance journey to meet them at the border of the Underworld. We invite you to join us as we honor the season and the Kindreds!
The Samhain ritual will be held at the Beech-Maple Lodge in Blacklick Woods Metro Park,
6975 E Livingston Ave., Reynoldsburg, OH. After you enter the park, Beech-Maple parking is the first two left turns off of the main road; the first is a small lot that we ask you to reserve for those with mobility needs, and the second is for a larger lot just a short walk away. Social hour begins at 2:30, with ritual to begin at 3:30 and a potluck to follow.
With best wishes of the autumn,
Three Cranes Grove, ADF
