Subject: [lbnoida100]-Lotus Boulevard Housing society fined Rs.5.5 crore

The below news was in the news paper about 20 days back. I just wish that the LB residents do not suffer in such a manner because of the 3C company's incapability in calculating the desired load or because of their greed to increase profits by reducing costs by getting a lower load sanctioned than is necessary.

Housing society fined Rs.5.5 crore

SME News, Thursday, Nov 22, 2012 14:10:29 PM ISTShareThis

LinkedInTweetFacebook

GURGAON:  Haryana power authorities have imposed a fine of Rs.5.5 crore on housing society Vatika City here for drawing power beyond sanctioned limit.

The Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam imposed the fine after a vigilance wing probe.

DHBVN executive engineer K.C. Aggarwal said Wednesday that the sanctioned load of Vatika City was 2,790 KW and it was allowed only 15 percent of the load for common services.

But the common load of the consumer was found 551.844 KW against sanctioned load of 418.5 KW -- more than 15 percent of the sanctioned load.

Secondly, the amount was being charged according to the domestic power tariff instead of non-domestic tariff since a year.

How come 3C will charge 15rs per unit, i am living in parsvnath majestic,Indirapuram. its 11rs/unit. what green power 3C is going to provide by charging 4rs extra.how come so much difference also what is rent. i dont think that there is anywhere rent is charged that also add per unit.
also there is 100% power back.2AC along with regular home appliances and lights/fans in a 2BHK flat and no problem, when that society is 5-7 yrs old.i dont understand 3C power calculation looks like they planned for 10 yrs back.

Hi all

If the information from arman is correct then it means

1. how builder is charging the amount which is for 5KVA.
2 just because of their design flaw they are putting all buyers at stake
3 if tomorrow the UPPCL ask all the flat owners to increase the load then RWA and buyers has to bear the huge cost to wiring.
4 this scenario is causing the issue and 3c is just giving 2KVA on powe backup.
5 they have charged 40 rs psf for power backup which normally builder charge for 5kva.
6. We have still not started living in LB the unit rate on power backup has already increased.
7. They have already stop corporating in registry and supporting wrong doing.

I think first of all we all should require to ask 3c to answer about power backup. So people who have already received the possession letter must come forward and send email to 3c on this issue.

We have to help ourself nobody else would come.

Thanks
Nitin

Someone just told me the due to the load balancing at transformer if the connection is more than 5KV then it must be 3 phse connection not single phase so the builder has to install 3 phase meters for each flat and run 3 phase cables upto the MCB at the flat and from there they have to run different phases in different rooms in order to keep the load balanced on all the phased. Probably to save the cost of installing 3 phase meter and running 2 extra cables upto the main MCB of the flat builder has done this so UPPC will not allow more than 5KV connection in these premises at the existing meter and wiring structure. If this is the case then 3C must hsow us how they spent 15K on each connection.

Arman

So atleast 10KV connection is required. We can use happily all the above appliances at current 4KV connection and no circuit breaker will probably trip but the meter will run at super high speed for which we have to pay. In this case either we have to get the load upgraded voluntarily for which we have to make several visits to UPPC or wait for the UPPC team to raid our flats and add up all the calculated load and then ask us to upgrade after paying a huge penalty. If 3C is chariging 15K for electricity connection why they are not giving us 10KV connection. for 4 KV connection official fee should not be more than 6-7K so from 15K charged to us probably the balance amount is going in the pocket of UPPC babus or jointly to babus and 3C representative or contractor who is getting this done. I think we must raise this point, either the connection should be 10KV from the day one or if they insist for 4KV then we must ask to show the proof the 15K connection charges. This will save us from bigger hassle in future.

I noticed that main MC is 40 A. It should be min 65 A for it to survive a serious load. they know what kind of fitting they have done and thats why they trimmed the max load allowed. I think we need to really step up and speak to 3c on power issues.

In my current 2 BHK apartment, I've a 4KW connection, with 40 KVA MCB and it works perfectly fine. I've run 2 ACs simultaneously with 2 fans and a fridge without an overload.
In my opinion, 5 KW connection is sufficient for most of our needs. Demanding a 10 KW connection is way too ambitious as the fixed charges would itself be close to 500+. May be a heavier connection is required for 4 BHK apartments, otherwise 5 KW is okay till 3BHK.

I think, the real issue is Power backup. I remember 3C promised 100% power backup. What does that mean? But I checked and found no papers (BBA or anything) which mentions this.

There must be emails or MoMs to say that the power backup would be adequate to run all the equipment in the flat.

5kw must be available in 3bhk flat.

100% Power backup here means, power available round the clock. Don’t misinterpret. Providing total backup for your power requirement is not feasible and too costly proposition.

No 100‰ power backup means you can run all equipment on DG Power that you can on main supply. Even 80% backup is round the clock supply but it does not allow any 16A switch to operate

I am bit confused when you say it does not allow any 16A switch to operate.

Do you mean that you can not run any equipment like AC, heater or gyser on DG.

If it is the case then why the hell we have paid money for power backup, electric sub station.

This is getting worse

But this is not justified load. What do you think ? Are you happy with the fact that you can either run ac or fridge nothing else in summer.

We need to ask them how they drive the DG load I would expect in your flat it should be 4KW and 3KW.

As per the charges taken by 3C, this should be around 4 and 3 KW right.

I think this issue is being discussed in this forum for quite some time now.
Unless we go and seek clarifications from 3c we would continue to discuss this here with no results.
I would mail 3c regarding this although my flat is in phase3 but I would like this to be corrected if it needs to be.
Can we arrange some meeting with 3c on this and go there collectively?

I just wish that the LB residents do not suffer in such a manner because of the 3C company's incapability in calculating the desired load or because of their greed to increase profits by reducing costs by getting a lower load sanctioned than is necessary.

How come 3C will charge 15rs per unit, i am living in parsvnath majestic,Indirapuram. its 11rs/unit. what green power 3C is going to provide by charging 4rs extra.how come so much difference also what is rent. i dont think that there is anywhere rent is charged that also add per unit.
also there is 100% power back.2AC along with regular home appliances and lights/fans in a 2BHK flat and no problem, when that society is 5-7 yrs old.i dont understand 3C power calculation looks like they planned for 10 yrs back.

regard,
Abhishek

Thanks
Nitin

To address this issue, I believe once again we shall demonstrate our unity the way our group demonstrated against maintenance agreement.

That's what I also think . I spoke to 3c people today but they were not having any definitive answer or logic behind such low allocation.

I made my point in front of them that this is not acceptable and reasons as well. They said they will discuss but its already 15 days since I raised this issue with them. No fruitful response from them.

Actually we people are not aware and many of us not understanding because we never asked abt it recently.

But it is a problem and needs to be addressed to 3c.
