Regarding the Plagiarism detector I talked abt before... its direct
use/benefit is to find similar source codes even those changed their
functions/classes order, variables names, removing/adding whitespaces
and so on
However, it is NOT the only use..it can be used further in copyrights
cases and source code stealing violations and so on

You can start by searching "Plagiarism automatic detection" but keep
in mind u will get results that find similarity in essays written in
natural languages
Also u can search for "source code similarity"
Also check the features of CodeMatch product found here

other products

This project is extendible, so u need to define limited features to do
to avoid losing in the middle of the project...

Read as much as u can and collect features, how-tos, and even
algorithm names while u read
